When Mary Beth Edelson created Some Living American Women Artists/Last Supper, she commented on the omission of women from art and religion. By replacing the men in Leonardo da Vinci’s painting with women, Edelson creates a shift in power towards the female gender and critiques the exclusivity of male hierarchy in art history.
